Disability Community Collaborative
formerly the Disability Justice Working Group
Mission
The Disability Community Collaborative is guided by the lived experiences of disabled* students, faculty, staff, and the ÍÑ¿ã°É Bay community. We collaborate through education, advocacy, creating inclusive physical and virtual spaces, and fostering access and authentic connection.
*Regarding the term “disabled”: We recognize and affirm the apparent and non-apparent differences and divergences within the bodymind, and how people identify themselves
Goals
The DCC has two main goals related to social justice for people with disabilities:
- Create disability-friendly campus environments (in-person and online) by upholding Disability Justice principles
- Increase awareness and knowledge of disability by promoting disability culture on campus and beyond
