CLASS Curriculum
Launch Deadlines
The proposal deadlines listed are for faculty members and their submission of their proposals in Curriculog. It takes about two weeks for the proposal to be ready for the CLASS committee to review.
Please see the Curriculum Calendar for detailed information on what proposals need to be submitted when. Our meeting calendar is adjusted to accommodate these. Missing a launch deadline and instead submitting a proposal on the final deadline will prevent your proposal from moving forward in time.
Guiding principles
The CLASS Curriculum Committee is committed to collegiality, diversity, equity, and inclusion in all policies and procedures. Thus, our guiding principles ensure that all written and oral communications, virtually and in person, are cordial and professional, meaning we respect similar and differing opinions and therefore cannot accept language or behavior that is contrary to those principles. We thank you in advance for abiding by this commitment in conversations, whether as a committee member or as a guest at committee proceedings; any such deviation from that commitment will not be tolerated, and is grounds for excusal from said conversation. Behavior or language resulting in an excusal may require a follow-up meeting with the Associate Dean and Committee Chair prior to continued committee meetings or discussions.
Membership
The committee has at least five and no more than seven members: the CLASS associate dean and, where possible, one probationary or tenured faculty member from each of the departments and programs representing the arts, humanities and letters, social sciences, interdisciplinary programs, and professional programs, as selected by each group’s department and program chairs. Members serve two-year terms. Where a constituency has no faculty member available, the seat may be filled by a faculty member from another constituency, or left vacant for the term.
